Picking Up the Pieces

End of the storm.

A writer and friend, Chris, took this shot after a tornado ravaged her midwest town and sent her family packing. Chris stayed behind to help.

Sad, tired, angry and feeling sorry for myself (I had to deal with the aftermath of yet another storm) there was nothing noble in my effort to clean-up. I had decided to call it quits, and go have a pity-party, when I took a passing glance across MY flooded farmland...

In the midst of such beauty, self-pity is not an option.

Prayers are with you. Mother-in-law called from Waukesha, WI. They have water in places they've never had in 80 years of living there near the banks of the Fox River. The dungeon is totally underwater, but, then again, it is a dungeon well below the height of the flooded basement and sub-basement.

Well, if you did have a pity-party, I hope you had some Watermelon-Raspberry wine from Three Lakes Winery. Drunk or not, it will take your mind off the water for a few moments.
